The Highlands Parent Faculty Organization is proud to support Highlands Elementary School and it’s dedicated teachers and hard-working students. Our PFO provides school programs that enhance and supplement the standard curriculum mandated by the Saugus Union School District and the California Board of Education.

Our 502(c)3 non profit organization raises money to provide the following programs:

Class Field Trips
Family Events
Staff Appreciation
Chalk Festival
Library Books
Meet the Masters Art Program

Our creative arts focused elementary school is a Nationally Recognized Blue Ribbon School and we recently received the Gold Ribbon Award from the California BOE. We are proud to offer our students the opportunity to write their own books each year by celebrating Young Author’s Day. We have a unique art program (Meet the Masters) that introduces our students to all the great painters and artists. Several of our teachers have been Kennedy Center trained in the arts. Our music TOSA’s (Teachers on Special Assignment) lead our school choir. We hold a school-wide science fair each year as well as participate in Math Field Day and Toastmasters.

At Highlands, we believe in creative learning opportunities. Through our PFO funded programs, we work with our exceptional teaching staff to provide a quality education while making learning fun.
